Housekeeping Room Attendant

The new Nautilus Hotel, located in the heart of South Beach will be opening SUMMER 2015. We are looking for dynamic team players to be a part of our winning team!
We are currently accepting applications for Food and Beverage Manager.

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms as assigned and ensuring the hotel's established standards of cleanliness. They are responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guest requests or complaints. They will ensure the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes, but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
o Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
o Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations
and hotel requirements
o Clean guest rooms by category priority
o Transport cart with cleaning supplies, amenities and linens to assigned guest room and
position securely
o Service assigned guest rooms
o Empty trash containers and ashtrays
o Remove all dirty terry and replace with clean par to designated layout
o Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower
walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor
o Replace facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location.
o Inspect condition of bathrobes and replace soiled/damaged ones
o Remove dirty bed linen and make up bed with clean linen
o Replace laundry bags and slips
o Clean closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure
correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow and luggage rack
o Dust and polish all furniture
o Realign furniture to floor plan
o Open all drawers/doors in check-out rooms and remove items left by guest. Dust inside.
o Check under bed(s), chairs and sofa for debris and remove if present
o Inspect condition of all furniture for tears, rips or stains; report any damages to the supervisor
o Remove all dust, debris and foreign particles from upholstered furniture including crevices and under cushions
o Dust pictures, frames and mirrors
o Remove dust and debris on television, VCR, clock radio, remote control and cable box
o Set correct time on clock; correct TV channel; correct movie rental insert
o Clean all lamps and light switches; check for proper working order
o Remove dust, spots and smears from windows, ledges and frames
o Remove dust, grease and smears from telephones and reposition properlyo Empty liquid from ice bucket and wipe all surfaces dry
o Remove dust, smudges and spills from mini bar; ensure it is plugged in and securely locked
o Remove dust on drapes weekly and realign to correct position daily
o Inspect condition of amenities in desk, drawers and guest service directory; replace designated amounts at proper locations within the room
o Remove trash, debris and cobwebs from balcony/patio
o Inspect condition of planters and plants; remove debris
o Remove dust, dirt, marks and fingerprints from entrance door(s)
o Ensure presence of fire safety, rate cards and DND sign
o Remove dust, dirt and smudges from A/C unit, vents, grids and thermostat.
o Remove dust, stains and marks from all baseboards, ledges and corners
o Vacuum carpet in guest room
o Spray room with deodorizer
o Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet
o Return and restock cart at end of shift
o Empty vacuum bag and wipe vacuum clean
o Ensure security of any assigned guest room keys
o Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor
o Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to the Supervisor
o Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
o Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
o Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
o Make up cribs and rollaway beds.
o Re-hang and refold guest clothing.
o Stock cleaning supply caddies.
o Maintain positive guest relations at all times
o Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
o Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Room Attendant in a private club, boutique hotel, luxury hotel or resort
o Knowledge of chemical handling
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
