Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for contracting, coordinating & servicing SOCIAL groups, meetings, and events.
This position will qualify, respond to social leads & inquiries and service social groups & events and weddings.
Solicit potential clients via telephone prospecting and sales calls, entertain clients, conduct site visits, prepare proposals, and negotiate social group & catering contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY
Responsibilities:
(Include Essential Duties Only) All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the National Hotel quality of service standards, and policies and procedures.

Manage a basis of key accounts based on market(s) assigned by Director of Sales & Catering Main targeted industries:
Socials, Entertainment, Fashion, Production, Event Planners, DMC Analyzing historical and other statistical information (market segment, account mix goals), participating in conducting customer interviews and preparing customer calls Responsible for all aspects of selling, planning, and servicing social groups, weddings, meetings, banquets, shows, receptions, and other events in the hotel's function rooms and event areas.
Prepare weekly sales report to communicate weekly initiatives.
Participate in weekly revenue & beo/resume meeting.
Communicate items needed to reinforce sales efforts to your market.
As directed, participate in corporate/social trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations.
Achieve established social group room nights and revenue as outlined by the agreed upon goals.
Coordinates all aspects of social group events and distributes important planning information to hotel supervisors and department heads through e-mails, event forecasts, event orders (beo), resumes in a professional and timely manner.

Responsible for improving revenues and profits from room rental, location fees & venue fees.

Create floor plans for the best use of space for each event and to ensure banquet and client agree prior to set up.

Use Delphi.
fdc to manage all the daily events and client accounts.
14.
Coordinate logistics for all social events/groups, meetings, and activities booked.
15.
Negotiate banquet food and beverage prices, function space and hotel services within approved departmental guidelines.
16.
Confirm in writing to the client, and all affected hotel departments, all social group and catering requirements via sales contract terms, addendums, group resumes, e-mails, and banquet event orders.
17.
Ensure that all definite functions are detailed accurately on BEOs and group resumes, approved by clients and distributed to designated departments on a timely basis.
Resolve any discrepancies with respective staff members.
18.
Process initial deposit and all scheduled deposits prior to group / event arrival through Opera.
All PM Accounts (master accounts) must have a zero balance on their folios upon groups departure.
19.
Check function room set-ups prior to guest's arrival, ensuring all details agree with client's requirements and hotel standards.

Up-sell client events and manage function space and room block inventory.
21.
Ensure all client files are kept organized and current with all required information as per departmental policies and procedures.
22.
Work with Director of Sales & Catering to develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established social group / catering revenue goals.
23.
Work with the Chef and Food & Beverage Team in developing creative ideas to meet client needs and maximize revenue.
24.
Facilitate pre-conference / post-conference meetings with clients and key staff as needed.
25.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS -(hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job).
Minimum Hiring Requirements:

Must have completed High School or GED Diploma 2 yrs.
' experience in the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems including, Delphi, Opera, Social Tables etc.
Possess excellent telephone sales skills.
Strong customer development and relationship management skills Effective decision-making skills Ability to influence others in a positive manner.
Strong problem-solving skills are essential for handling guest concerns.
Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) Strong organization skills.

Language Requirements:

Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guests.
Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
Proficiency in effectively presenting information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German is preferred.
